The Danby dehumidifier also has an auto restart to restart your unit after a power failure and an auto de-icer to prevent frost from building up. The 4 castors help you carry the unit from room to room, and if it gets too cold outside, you can use the low temperature function which makes the unit work in temperatures as low as 5°C. 1. Is Danby a good dehumidifier?
Yes. Danby is a good dehumidifier brand and possibly my favorite (based on reviews). I’ve had mine for over two years now and it still works great. It’s efficient, well built, durable, and can be found at an affordable price point. The only drawback might be that the plastic smell.
Air fresheners might help with this issue though and perhaps also placing it in an alcove out of sight from public or family areas where people spend most of their time will help too
2. How does Danby’s dehumidifier pump work?
Danby’s pump mechanism is exceptionally powerful. The water wicks up the hollow vane to the upper part of the collector, where it drips out of the desiccant material. This moisture will get sucked back into the pipe when there’s a vacuum in the lower section of the pipe, and this process repeats itself over and over again.
Once all moisture has been removed from both parts of this apparatus, an automatic shutoff valve activates that prevents juices from flowing out–even without power applied to it!
3. Why is my Danby dehumidifier not draining through the hose?
Here is how to fix the problem.
1) Make sure all fittings are correctly connected with a tight fit and there is no water in any of the pipes.
2) Turn up the humidity setting, make sure it is set to at least 75%.
3) Turn off your dehumidifier for one hour, then turn it on again. \
4) If this does not work, call Danby customer service for further assistance- their service is excellent!
4. Do dehumidifiers need a pump?
Yes, dehumidifiers with a pump will usually need to be “pushed” or put into your basement in order to function adequately.
